The opportunity:
As the Infrastructure Engineer you will be joining a growing team of Infrastructure and Helpdesk engineers. The primary role of the Infrastructure Engineer is to support the Head of Technology Operations with the successful delivery of the technology roadmap and strategy, IT integration of 8-10 acquired firms into the Groups Technology infrastructure and the continuation of a high standard of technical support to our internal and external users in line with service level commitments.
The role of Infrastructure Engineer will involve implementing new solutions based on business requirements, identified risks and growth and to take ownership of assigned projects involving the delivery of new technical solutions and infrastructure improvements including procedural and process. The role will be primarily project based, although will involve some escalations from the Support team.
Key responsibilities:
Technical responsibility for both on-premises infrastructure, and an extensive Microsoft 365 / Azure environment, including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, Intune, Virtual Machines, Storage Accounts etc
Technical responsibility for a large network deployment covering sites across the UK, with regards to both our SD-WAN configuration & layer 2 configuration / security management
Provision of quality 3rd line technical support to internal/external users and colleagues
Provision of new technical solutions in line with our Technology roadmap and strategy
Accurate recording of issues and resolutions into our Helpdesk System
Suggesting technical and process improvements to colleagues and managers and implementing them as directed
Managing your own time, relating to both project and BAU workloads
Mentoring and development of Junior colleagues
Assist in the testing and delivery of the Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery procedures as an when required
Ensure all risks are documented and reported to Senior colleagues and assist in the management of all Technology related risks
Provide leadership in the absence of other Senior colleagues
Job Requirements:
The ability to use current certifications, such as:
Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator
Microsoft 365 Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate
CCNA Routing & Switching
