Senior Support Worker (Housing)

About the role

One of the North East’s largest and most reputable housing providers is looking to appoint a Senior Support Worker to work at their office in the Sunderland area.

This is a full-time role working 37 hours a week across Monday to Saturday, with flexible and hybrid working available. This position is offered on an FTC basis for 6 months.

The purpose of this role is to lead the oversee the housing support team in delivering excellent and responsive housing services.

About the role:

  • You will be managing a team of project workers to deliver customer and housing services to families facing homelessness

  • Collaborate with colleagues and to identify service improvements in line with good practise

  • Oversee all staffing related matters including workload planning, appraisals, performance, and Health and Safety

  • Ensure all staff on team are properly supported and trained to perform their duties effectively

  • Attend meetings as necessary

  • Deliver services in line with core values and budget

About you:

  • Experience of housing management practise, ideally a housing qualification

  • Sound knowledge of safeguarding and experience of working with families who may demonstrate challenging behaviour

  • Experience of managing and leading a housing team including performance management

  • Excellent people skills- both written and verbal

  • Full current driving license with access to a car insured for Business use
